Relection

-Two things that I think went well were the media piece and NGO research. For the media piece, I used Emaze to gather my information and inspire people to pay attention climate change. Emaze was pretty easy to use, so I think the media piece went very well for me. For NGO research, it was my first time hearing about NGO and searching an NGO  for my topic. It was very interesting and helpful. There were a lots of choices that I can choose from. So it didn't take me much time to finish this assignment.
-If I can start over again, I would like to change my topic and five online resources for Diigo. To be honest, my topic was very general and people has talked about it for a long time.I may change my topic to a very specific issue so that I can focus more on it.

-I really like the one presentation winch is about teenage pregnancy. It is a very serious topic and common among teenagers. It happens everywhere and gets more and more serious. So the presentation they did actually gained my attention and made me ponder. I have to do something to help with it. I may suggest friends around me and remind them to stay away from these.

Media piece - Emaze

I use Emaze to help me with my topic, Climate Change. The purpose of my media piece is to help people raising awareness about Climate Change, because it is a serious issue around the world. Imagine that everybody is doing little things to help to reduce the rising temperature of our planet, our world be become much better than current.
I use pictures, videos, and text information to develop my topic. I think Emaze is an efficient and also effective way to express my idea. First of all, Emaze has lots of templates for various of themes that people can choose from. Next, Emaze allows the changing of 3-dimensional images and settings, which can easily catch audience’s attention. Then, it supports different languages and culture which can help to come up with a common response.

NGO: Climate Action Network Canada(CANC)

Climate Action Network (CAN) is a worldwide network of over 950 Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs) in more than 110 countries. Climate Action Network (CANC) is founded by John Bennett in Canada in 1989s. Their goal is promoting government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels. CANC members work together to achieve this goal through information exchange and the coordinated development of NGO strategy on international, regional, and national climate issues.

Programs that they have are research, issues, new post, publications and campaigns. CANC allows everyone search any news or issues about climate in the website. They are trying to spread out the knowledge of concerning about climate. They have lots of issues such as: what is climate change? Getting off Fossil Fuels, Clean Energy, Impacts and Adaptation and Government Actions. So basically, they want everyone to build a awareness of what climate is serious. They encourage people using clean energy instead of fossil fuel to reduce pollution. On the home page, we can also find new post that shows the recent news, such as: Reflections on Paris, Meeting the Requirements of the Paris Agreement, etc. It has all the information about the actions that government takes, so it will be easier for people to go through and talk about it. Publications are also found on website, such as: Federal Policy, International Policy, Clean Energy, Tar Sands, Mitigation and Climate Justice. Tar sands database is a collection of hundreds documents gathered through various resources. They focus a lot on oil sands because it affects climate change tightly. Provincial, Federal and international policies are made to limit people's actions which may cause negative consequences to climate change. Campaign is also an important part of their programs. For example: Canada misses end of March deadline for announcing its contribution to global efforts to reduce carbon pollution. Canada, as part of CAN, should have announced its plan to contributing to global efforts to reduce carbon pollution by the end of March.

Issue Research

The issue that I'm researching is climate change.

Climate is changing constantly and the global temperature is rising faster and faster. It not only affects human being, animals and even all living organisms, but also affects ecosystem, economies and communities.

Climate change involves natural causes and human causes. Two factors of contemporary climate change are changes in volcanic activities and changes in solar radiation. In terms of the earth's energy balance, these factors influence the amount of incoming energy. Volcanic eruption are episodic and have relatively short-term effects on climate change. Changes in solar radiation have influenced the climate over the past centuries. Since the industrial revolution, human have produced large amount of greenhouse gases to atmosphere by burning fossil fuels. The build-up of  greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has led to an enhancement of natural greenhouse effect. Human will continuing contribute to the greenhouse effect and warm our planet's temperature.

Climate change has lots of impacts on human and society. For example: rising temperature causes some regions experience extreme heat while other regions experience slightly cold. Also, other disasters, such as flooding, drought, violent storms can also cause lots of deaths of people. Climate change also impacts water resources. Water is tied tightly to other resources and social issues, such as food supply, health, industry, transportation and ecosystem. Once water and food are affected, human will be in a dangerous situation. It's very serious, climate change not only affects us, but also affects our generations. If we keep warming our planet, earth will finally be destroyed!

In order to reduce the rising in temperature, we can choose using renewable energy than fossil fuels. As students, we can walk or bike to school instead of taking cars or buses. When we are at home, we can turn off the light as soon as possible whenever we do not use it. There are lots of things that we can do to reduce the global warming.

Stronger-er-er

The song that I choose is Stronger by Kelly Clarkson. It is released in 2000s. The reason why I choose this song is that it inspires me a lot. The first time when I heard this song is when I was in primary school, I was too little and only found the song was pretty loud and powerful and it made me feel high. As I grow up, I understand more about the deep meanings behind the song.

It is an amazing song. Obviously, the lyrics of this song are about the feelings of the singer after break up. She is telling that guy that she is good and all the pain that he gives her make her stronger. Even enough that guy thinks she will be lost with out him, it turns out that she is better off without him. As she sings: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, she is telling herself that she is strong and also telling us that don’t be afraid of being lost in love and trying to face those problems and making ourselves stronger. In lyrics, she also talks about the difference of “along” and being “lonely” (“Doesn't mean I’m lonely when I’m alone”) She is along but not lonely without that guy! Kelly Clarkson sings this song loud and repeatedly, as a way to convince her that she will be fine alone. The lyrics also state that singer starts over with someone new to express her opinion that she can be better without that guy. The lyrics are strong, loud, powerful and aggressive.

Kelly Clarkson said:" That song is just a gold mine - it's a little bit pop, a little bit pop rock, a little bit dances, and it ties everything in. And everybody loves that message. 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.' It's a perfect representation of my life." I think it also represents how my own life looks like. I can also get hurt in love, what I can do is to tell myself that life will not stop because of anyone, so I'd better face problems bravely and make myself stronger. As it sings in the lyrics:" What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger, just me, myself and I". It is why I think this is a powerful song for me.
